From this weekend (28th May) for two months, the pictures on our walls will be by Emma Rose, an award winning artist/colourist who lives in Wellow. Emma’s pictures are semi-abstract and impressionistic, with an emphasis on colour and texture. Using Indian Inks and acrylics, she produces vibrant and arresting work whose style is distinctive and original, depicting landscape, sky, sea, nature and memories. Her paintings are available as originals, limited edition prints and unique canvas prints.
Emma grew up between the West Country and London, loving equally the countryside, the sea and the city. After school she settled in London. A vibrant London career followed – including spells in theatre, film and photography, as well as dancing and choreography. During these years she also studied painting and sculpture.
Having moved to Somerset, she now regularly exhibits in Bath, the West Country and London. Her work can been seen at her studio in Wellow and at her gallery at 78 Walcot Street, Bath. See also her website http://www.emmaroseartworks.com/.
She has just been picked to exhibit at the prestigious Society of Women Artist’s Annual Exhibition at The Mall Galleries near Buckingham Palace in July.
