We are looking for a weekend Café Manager
Spring has come – and we hope finally to be able to open our café for lunches at weekends. And we are generally short of café staff with good food preparation skills. We are therefore looking for someone who can help Alessandro and Cheyenne in the cafe – and who is experienced enough to hold the fort on their own when necessary. Weekend working will definitely be part of the job. Our advert runs as follows:
Community café – Weekend Café Manager– Freshford
We are looking for a part-time Weekend Café Manager to work in our 30-cover café which is part of our popular community shop. Located in beautiful Freshford, six miles south of Bath, the Galleries Shop and Café is staffed mostly by volunteers and serves primarily the adjoining villages of Freshford and Limpley Stoke. Galleries Shop and Café is open seven days a week, but so far, not on weekend afternoons when the demand is greatest. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the café operation and is expected to be able to hold the fort on his or her own.
- Catering experience in a high pressure environment
- Good food preparation and coffee-making skills
- Strong commitment to customer service and high quality standards
- A good team player, with the people skills to work well with volunteers and fellow paid staff
- Ability to manage others
- Familiarity with food hygiene regulations.
The post is flexible and will include both weekday and weekend working, and hours may vary to fit within the café’s operating hours. The rate to be paid will be around £8 an hour, depending on experience.
Freshford is well served by public transport.
