Our community is special because we have so many individuals who invest their time and expertise in making it a better place for us all to live and work. Most of this is carried out by volunteers but funds are also needed to support the upkeep of our community.

Leaving a legacy to your local community charity is simple. By naming the Freshford & Limpley Stoke Community Association (FLiSCA for short) as a beneficiary in your will we will ensure your money is used to support a variety of important local causes and to respond to changing needs over time.

Grant giving expertise

  • The board of trustees comprises a cross section of local residents and includes representatives from Freshford and Limpley Stoke Parish Councils.
  • Over £70,000 has been awarded in grants in the last 15 years.
  • All trustees are volunteers which means 100% of your money goes to the final beneficiaries.

 Tax benefits

  • Legacies are tax-free since they come out of an estate before inheritance tax is applied.
  • By leaving 10% of an estate to charity a reduced rate of inheritance tax can apply.
  • The current 40% inheritance tax rate can be reduced to 36%.
